  But similar OPs seem to fall into a generational and gender like/dislike of these types of sophomoric actions. In other words, these types of incidents seem to play well with males under the age of 35 or so. I"m watching this as an ex-Dub who has no love for the Dark Lords and I'm feeling sorry for the rank and file at this Memorial.

  I think this is a reflection of society as a whole that the younger generation have no respect for anyone. With the advent of the internet, cell phone cameras they think anything is free game to video and post on youtube. If you read my postings you will know I have no love for this cult but as another poster said it made even myself feel sorry for the dubs there. I can picture my elderly mother sitting there and upsetting her.

  I have a really silly question- what is with the flowers on the stage? I know in Christian churches it is common place for large arrangements on holidays, why don't jw's consider this being part of the 'world' to do the same? or do they always have flowers?

  The witness looks at this as a memorial to Christ death and resurrection. Thus the flowers. I seem to recall at all the memorials I have attended they had flowers. As far as being a worldly custom you have a good point but with witness this is always inconsistent.

  I have already stated as being in the camp of NO this is counter productive. Comes across as childish and immature. Reminds me of the time the teen idiots followed us from door to door heckling us. All it did was made us look good in the eyes of the house holders and united us in the fact that we were being persecuted for the "truth".

  Not to offend you but I do not know what you are trying to accomplish here. If you think this will change the average dub thinking you are wrong as you just came across as a bunch of "wacko apostates". It only justifies in their minds that they are being persecuted for the "truth" sake.

  Circular arguments, reminds me of my ex. I would get so flustered that I would feel like hitting my head on a wall. You can't win. You have to learn to plant seeds out doubt in their heads and let their own common sense reason with them.

  Reading some of the responses I see the Dubs are out in force to try and put their own dis-information out there. Seems like when they get challenged their only response then is to call the person an idiot. Some Christian organization.

  Now a days they don't even need an announcement at the Kingdum Hall. I posted on another post how someone in our family now has decided that my son is not a good associate due to a post he made on Facebook and my son was asked not to go to a family function. My son has being doing the slow fade for the last 15 years. We think we know who might have said something and if it is this person he is a f*ing hypocrite himself.

  i was on the committee.

  this girl for some odd reason was put on public reproof 4 times for the same thing.

  LOL these comments are killing me LOL. Unfortunately though, I find out this morning that she was not the only one. That one other sister came to the elders after the memorial crying and stated that she has "THE CALLING" but did not want to stumble any of the friends because of her past so she wanted to request that she partake of the emblems after the other friends were gone in a private room.

  Like I said these cults attract all the loonies out there. It is getting as bad as some of the wacko emotional Evangelists you see on TV.

  She must have had some mental issues to begin with but you know the dubs will not look to outside counseling. They probably read her a few scriptures and figured that she was fixed, As far as he partaking in the emblems, over the years I have meet a few of these "chosen ones" that were not all there in the head.

  HBO Scientology Documentary

  has anyone else seen the hbo scientology documentary 'going clear' - wow...cults are just mind-blowing you wonder how people can fall for that garbage, then you (those of us former/fading jws) look in the mirror.. i would love for someone to make a major jw documentary like this.

  'going clear' is getting a lot of press.

  poor tom cruise...he looks like quite the whack job in it too.

  With myself like most of us on here we had no choice as we were raised in the cult and forced to go to their meetings. When I got old enough to reason for myself, with rational objective thinking, I figured it out as a bunch of brain washing BS. I believe that "religions" like the JW's, Scientology or Mormons to name a few as cults as a person cannot voluntary leave the faith without being shunned. This is one sign of a cult. Free thought is discouraged and looking up to an individual or group of individuals as the only pathway to god are more signs of it being a cult.
